Tribute to an angel

Our sweet little angel
Saying goodbye
Letting our balloons go.
family support
Goodbye "Dolly". I love you.
A teary goodbye
"I lub you Sissy"

Brothers
Trish and Terrell would like to say how much they appreciate the love and sympathy they have felt by so many over the past week and a half. Please continue to remember their family and pray that they might always have peace and strength throughout this long journey. We are all missing Madalyn but are grateful for the knowledge of His plan, knowing that we will see her again someday and knowing that Madalyn is doing the things that she wasn't able to do here on earth.
Madalyn looked like a little angel laying there. Everyone commented on how beautiful she looked and she truly did look like a porcelain doll. The day went as well as we had hoped. Trish gave a mothers tribute to Madalyn that left us all in tears. She did an amazing job and we all felt a strong spirit present. The streets were lined with pink, purple and white balloons. It brought tears to everyones eyes that came through. After the dedication of the grave, we all let a balloon go. The pallbearers were Madalyn's five brothers.
We are thankful for all of our many memories that we have with you Madalyn. Your contagious smile, your funny little noises, your sideways shimmy, your yummy smell, your love for music (especially ABBA), your brown curly locks, your beautiful brown eyes and how you made us all better people because you were a part of our lives.
You will always be our angel.

A teary goodbye

Our sweet little Madalyn returned to her Heavenly Father on July 14th at 9:38 P.M.. She was surrounded by her mom and dad,her brothers and other extended family. Trish held Madalyn as she took her last little breaths. There was such a peace and reverence in the room. I'm sure the angels were present. Madalyn was at peace and ready to be with those who were waiting for her on the other side. We were able to kiss her and tell her goodbye. Madalyn appeared to have a little smile on her face and we couldn't help but feel that she was giving us a sign. She was our little angel here on earth and will continue to be our angel in Heaven. We have been comforted in knowing that our sweet baby girl isn't sick anymore and is with many who love her on the other side. We miss you "Sis". We love you so much and will be anxiously awaiting the day we get to be with you again.
Thank you again to all of you who have continued to follow Madalyn's blog and for your thoughts and prayers.

Only a short time

Unfortunately the good news didn't last. Shortly after we got the great results on Madalyn's MRI she started showing some unusual symptoms. At first it was a slight change in her eyes and then she started going cross-eyed. Shortly after that she stopped walking. The Doctors figured that she must have fluid on her brain. They decided to put a shunt in to drain it. With some concern but much optimism for the basic procedure Trish and Terrell went ahead, putting their trust in their favorite Doctor, Dr. Walker. Coming out of the surgery Madalyn didn't quite respond the way they had expected. She was very lathargic and non responsive and wanted to sleep a lot. After and extended stay at the hospital, Madalyn came home but it was for a short time because T & T were concerned with the way she was not coming out of the post operation side affects. After a second operation to move the shunt and see if their was infection or something they were missing, Madalyn came home again. This time in much pain because of the second operation. Again, they waited and gave her time to come out of it. Still no change. Madalyn returned to the hospital for more tests. This time some of the lab work showed A-typical cells (cancer), but seeing nothing on the MRI that showed anything we stayed hopeful. Unfortunately the cancer did finally show itself and it wasn't good. Madalyn's cancer has returned and is moving rapidly. The doctors say that it is like a blanket over her brain. It isn't one big mass but it is there and moving very fast. The doctors gave Madalyn 1-2 months. 2 days later they gave her 2 weeks.
Trish and Terrell have felt peace and comfort knowing that Madalyn will no longer be in pain and that she will be with her Heavenly Father and many other loved ones. Trish wanted to make sure that all of you out there know how grateful they are for all your prayers and faith for Madalyn to be well. Please continue to pray for the Fletcher family during this time. I hope that we can all find peace in knowing that Madalyn will be our little guardian angel. She is such a special little girl who has touched so many lives. We love you Madalyn.

We couldn't be happier!!!

Today was the BIG day. Madalyn had her MRI. Even though she couldn't eat anything until after the test and it wasn't scheduled until 11:00, our little sweetie did so well and the best part of all...(I get teary just typing it) THERE IS NOT A SIGN OF THE CANCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The doctors couldn't have been more pleased with the results. Madalyn will still continue to receive her chemo to stay on top of it and things will be pretty much normal for her until her nest test in September! WHOO-HOO! We are so happy. Let's all go out and celebrate!! Thanks again for your continuing prayers and fasting. Miracles do happen!

Doing sooo well!

We just wanted to update everyone and let you know how well Madalyn is doing. She is eating, eating, and eating some more! She LOVES to eat. It's almost like she is making up for lost time, which we love to see. At first it was so fun to watch her sit and eat because it was something we hadn't seen in such a long time. Now it is the norm to see her sitting in her high-chair nibbling on toast, yogurt, or cottage cheese which are all her favorites but she'll eat just about anything. She is putting on weight and even getting a little bit of chub on her legs! YEAH! She still has to have her feeding tube because of all the meds that she has to take.
She is so happy and so much fun to be around. She loves to shimmy around the house. If she's not in her high chair eating she is toddling around the house. She loves to dance to music and her favorite show to dance to is "The Sound of Music".
Recently Madalyn's eyelashes and eyebrows have started to grow back in. They are so dark and it just brings out her beautiful big brown eyes. She has also got a little patch of "stubble" in a little "U" shape in the back of her head!
All in all we are just enjoying watching Madalyn be a little girl. She continues to have her out-patient chemo treatments every 14 days and so far is handling those very well.
We are so thrilled about all the positive that has come since her MRI results and feel so very blessed. We know that those blessings continue for Madalyn because of all the faith and prayers of so many of you. Thank you so much for continuing to keep Madalyn in your thoughts and prayers and for checking up on our little Madalyn. If she could she would blow each of you a great big kiss!
